Matt Naito

Matt Naito
Servant Leader, Payroll & Admin team

Matt always lives while finding the positive meaning in his hardship of life.

In an opportunity that I failed a high school entrance examination in Japan, I had only one option to enter a high school which did not have the necessary classes to take the entrance examination of the national university. And then, through an unexpected encounter with a certain teacher who was acquainted with my father, I could trust and accept this test of my life at that moment and I had decided to take the entrance examination of Japanese national university from this high school. It was unprecedented in the past that I passed the Japanese national university (Saitama University) from such a high school only once.

After that, I tried to take the entrance examination of Saitama University Graduate School of Science and Engineering. There was no challenger like me in Saitama University at the time because I was a student in the department of education, who did not take classes of the department of science and engineering for four years. And it was unprecedented in the past since the beginning of Saitama University that I skipped to take classes of the department of science and engineering for four years and passed this examination only once.

"My family was poor in a childhood. But there was a support of my elder sister after my father passed away and I was able to graduate from a national university graduate school by all exemptions of the entrance fee and the tuitions in Japan fortunately. And I have been able to understand through these miracle experiences that the poverty is not necessarily misfortune and there is a more important test in the life."

And then I entered IBM Japan and I got an opportunity to build a fundation of a very simple idea, "Business is just only data conversion". And I started up a company with supports of my elder sisters regarding IT supprt of accounting, auditing and tax practice after the resignation of IBM Japan.

After the East Japan Great Earthquake Disaster in 2011, I challenged a development of high speed Web API (Application Programming Interface) specialized in accounting, auditing and tax practice because this industry was too unrelated to a global environment. But that did not become a business. On the other hand, I unexpectedly got a valuable opportunity to repent my life through Two Miles, especially, Hiro when I visited to Southern California in 2013. And then I got an opportunity to come to Southern California again and I came with only one luggage.

I'm mainly in charge of payroll service in Two Miles. I developed a database of a very complicated schedule management by myself to provide a better service to the clients. And I keep in mind to serve for all staffs to be able to bring them the best performance and for increase both sales and profits of Two Miles as a servant leader.

  • What is your favorite Bible verses?
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. (Proverbs 3:5-6)
Surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age. (Matthew 28:20)

  • Why are you working at Two Miles?
Because I have the same purpose and foundation of the life as Hiro and I can share them through Two Miles and all is the best environment to give everything which I cultivated so far as my compilation.

  • What do you like to do outside of work?
I like to drive by a convertible car while listening my favorite music, and to watch the American football game, especially, Huntington Beach High School Oilers and USC Trojans, and to enjoy the fellowship with Christians.

  • What is your future goal?
    To establish the eternal heritage.
To serve by my talent to people all over the world.
To become the sample person who has been able to change from despair to hope, from uneasiness to courage.

  • What is your strength?
My strength is trust in God. I had a lot of wonderful experiences by having chosen to enter the narrow gate, not the wide gate.
    Finally, I love mankind.
